2005 Yalumba Vinnovations Shiraz

The 2005 Yalumba Vinnovations Shiraz was lovingly crafted using hand-picked grapes that were aged in American oak imported from some of the country’s best oak forests. This rare wine from a superior vintage year shows full depth with a deep purple red color. Aromas are ripe, juicy and chocolaty with a touch of mint, surrounded by black berry fruits and hints of cedar. The 2005 vintage is full-bodied and warm with touches of floral, and crammed full of blueberries, opulent plums and a burst of aniseed. This wine is oh-so-satisfying on the palate with finely tailored tannins contributing to a lovely finish. For the patient wine lover, this wine will cellar for ten or more years, but is superb now when enjoyed alongside a filet steak seared rare, perhaps with a touch of blackberry Shiraz sauce.
